The Speed of sound in the flying saucer
So why are the saucers rotating:
As the air flows over the saucers the airflow speed relative to the the flying saucer differs as the one saucer side is differing from the other as the saucer is going forward the other is going backward causing a slight difference when going supersonic ,causing the "Shock Wave" to twist causing a spiral with a free flowing airflow ,less drag.
